Green Smoothie – serves 2

Green smoothies have become a bit of a trend in the health world, and it’s no surprise. Why not enjoy the benefits of a tasty drink, while also packing in all those vitamins and minerals to leave you feeling great!

This recipe can be had for breakfast, a snack on the go or at any time really. The benefits include, high fibre for a healthy digestive system, an impressive array of vitamins and minerals, protein to build muscle, aid cell repair and growth, omega 3 essential oils to act as an anti-inflammatory and a boost to the brain, as well as electrolytes to keep you well hydrated.

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana, chopped
  • 1 large handful of fresh greens, such as baby spinach
  • 1/2 a peeled cucumber
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 1/2 a bunch of fresh mint
  • 1 Tablespoon of coconut butter
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  • Coconut water to blend

Method:

Put all ingredients in a high speed blender and process until smooth and creamy.
