The Pecan nut is full of nutrients, antioxidants, vitamin e, fibre and healthy fats. Storage is the key to preserving the minerals, fatty acid and the pecan oil flavours. Your pecan nuts are supplied vacuum packed in a resealable pouch and to preserve the benefits we recommend you store them in an airtight container in a cool dry place, ideally in the fridge or the freezer. Correctly stored your shelled pecans will have a shelf life of over 18 months.
Kootingal organic Pecans are great as a healthy snack, added to fruit salad, made into pecan butter, gelato or ice cream or pecan pie, or the pecan nut can be split and dropped into muesli or a fresh green salad.
The Kootingal Organic Pecan Farm harvests its specific variety (Wichita) of Pecan from May each year. There is a full range of award winning pecan product available from organic roasted salted pecans to cookies like chopped pecans in biscotti biscuit.
