“I’m Joanie the founder of BeeLike and if you’re interested in knowing a bit more about the story behind my products then please read on.
Based in Uralla in the Northern Tablelands region of NSW, I hand-make all-natural beeswax lip balms, soaps, hand salves, lotion bars and candles using the by-products of honey production from our own hives.
My journey started seven years ago after meeting my partner Calla, a passionate beekeeper. If you’d asked me about bees before meeting him, I’d have told you that they produce delicious golden honey and they occasionally sting people but after seeing Calla’s love for bees and learning from him, I found myself becoming more and more fascinated by the creatures.
Most people recognise honey as the primary product created by bees, but wax and propolis have been used for thousands of years for their antibacterial, antifungal, waterproofing, moisturising and healing properties. Being all-natural, biodegradable and sustainable, beeswax and propolis are valuable and versatile ingredients
Beelike’s product range is handmade by me in between caring for our two young children. I make all of our products with love and respect, handcrafted in small batches with our personal supply of wax and propolis.
Based on the principles of sustainability, minimal waste, and reducing our carbon footprint, Beelike provides quality beeswax products to people seeking an all-natural, safe and healthy alternative to regular skin care.
